Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you buy laser-engraved products from Hank Elsner at shop.hankelsner.com. By placing an order and paying, you agree to these terms.

Effective date: October 18, 2026

1. Products and custom work

Our products are custom laser-engraved items made to order, including Portrait and Stand, Magnetic Metal Portraits, Business Cards, and Stainless Engraved Custom Cards. Because each item is made for you from your photo, details, or design, small variations that are part of laser engraving and the metal material may occur.

2. Photos and designs you provide

When you send us a photo, design, name, text, logo, website, phone number, QR-code destination, or other material, you confirm that you own it or have the right and permission to use it and to have it engraved. You keep your rights in your material. You give us permission to use, copy, resize, adjust, and engrave that material as needed to make, fulfil, and verify your order and reorders. Please do not send material you do not have permission to use.

You are responsible for checking that the details you provide — including spelling, names, phone numbers, websites, and QR-code destinations — are correct.

3. Design fees

Some products have a one-time design fee:

• Business Cards: $10 one-time design fee.
• Stainless Engraved Custom Cards: $25 one-time design cost.

The design fee is charged once for a design, not on every order. Your completed design is saved by the shop. The design fee is waived on reorders of the same already-designed item — this applies to reorders of the same design on all of our laser products. A new design, or a changed design, is a new design and may have a new design fee. To use a saved design, we look it up by your email address or order information (see section 10).

4. Minimums

• Business Cards: minimum 50 cards per order.
• Stainless Engraved Custom Cards: minimum 4 cards per order.

5. Pricing

• Portrait and Stand: $25.00 each.
• Magnetic Metal Portraits: $25.00 each.
• Business Cards: thin aluminum $1.50 each, thick aluminum $2.50 each, minimum 50, plus the $10 one-time design fee (from $85 thin / from $135 thick for 50 cards).
• Stainless Engraved Custom Cards: $25.00 each, minimum 4, plus the $25 one-time design cost (first order from $125 for 4 cards).

All prices are in U.S. dollars. Prices may change before you order. The price shown and charged at checkout is the price for that order. Any taxes or shipping shown at checkout are added as shown there.

6. Payment via Stripe

Payment is due at checkout and is processed by Stripe. We do not take payment on these product pages themselves. Your order is not ready for production until payment is completed successfully. Stripe's own terms also apply to the payment itself.

7. Production and fulfilment

We start custom work after we receive your payment and the photo, details, or design needed to make your item. If we cannot use a file or detail you sent, we may contact you for a replacement or corrected information. Please review checkout details carefully before paying, because custom work is made from what you provide.

8. Shipping

Portrait and Stand and Magnetic Metal Portraits ship free. For Business Cards and Stainless Engraved Custom Cards, shipping is calculated at checkout based on the estimated weight and box size for your order. Make sure the shipping address you enter at checkout is correct and complete.

9. Right to refuse service

This means we may decline or cancel any order, for any reason, even after you have paid. If we refuse service on a paid order, we will refund that purchase through Stripe to the original payment method.

10. Refunds and returns for custom engraved goods

Because custom engraved goods are made to order for you, they cannot be resold to someone else. For that reason, returns and refunds are limited:

• Custom engraved items are not returnable for a change of mind, or because a photo, spelling, detail, or design you provided was not what you wanted.
• If an item arrives defective, damaged, or does not match the design or details confirmed for your order, contact us and we will make it right — by remaking the item or refunding it.
• If we refuse service on your order under section 9, we will refund your purchase as described there.

Approved refunds are issued through Stripe to the original payment method.

11. How the shop reuses your saved design

We save your completed design and order record so we can verify and fulfil reorders. We may reuse your saved design to look up and confirm your earlier order — for example by the email address or order information you give us — and to make your reorder or another laser-engraved item using that same design for you. If we cannot find a saved design for you, a design fee may apply as a new design.

12. Liability cap

To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim connected with an order is limited to the purchase price you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses connected with an order.

14. General and governing note

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where the shop operates. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. We may update these terms from time to time; the version in effect when you place an order applies to that order.
